July 17, 2024 by Tori Kelley Leave a Comment

We at Texas System of Care (TxSOC) are excited to announce the launch of a new micro-lesson video series! This series covers the topic of a strengths-based approach and how it helps children and families thrive.

TxSOC is committed to making training impactful, accessible, and easy to digest for our statewide mental health education. We know finding time to engage in lengthy trainings can be challenging, which is why we created this series of short, dynamic animated videos that will be valuable to mental health professionals, educators, caregivers, and others interested.

Sneak Peak of Micro-lesson #1

Our first episode covers the topic of what a strengths-based approach is and how it can be beneficial for fostering resilience and growth. You can watch a sneak peek of the first micro-lesson, which explains the method and the benefits of the approach.

Each video is about three minutes long, and we dive deeper into the strengths-based practices in future videos!

Behind the Scenes

Our TxSOC of care team took a creative approach to making these videos to captivate viewers in easily consumable format. Tammy Holland, our Senior Administrative Program Coordinator, Training & Services Lead and Nidia Heston, Family Engagement Specialist provided the training material for the videos. Raven Garuda, Communications Specialist – Content Writer, designed the beautiful animations that make the videos fun and make it easy to understand. McKenzie Bentley, Digital Media Specialist, then demonstrated her podcasting voice by narrating the videos!

McKenzie shared an unedited version of her behind the scenes narrating Micro-lesson #2. Check it out!

Where You Can Find the Micro-Lesson Training

Our goal is to not only make this series engaging and dynamic, but to also reach the community across organizations and families. This series will be available on our website and across our social media channels. We encourage mental health professionals, families, and schools to share the short video clips with colleagues, family, and friends! We are eager to see the positive impact this series has on our TxSOC community.

Stay tuned for the first episode by subscribing to our newsletter and following us on our social media channels!
