This year’s Texas Mental Health Creative Arts Contest garnered a great deal of attention and touched the lives of many through all of the art that was submitted. Texans of all ages submitted original artwork, writing, and photography that drew on the theme of “Why does mental health matter to you?” We received 671 total entries and are pleased to announce that the winners have been selected. We selected winners from each artwork category and across four different age groups–elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult. You can view this year’s winners at https://gallery.txsystemofcare.org
We held a virtual reception to celebrate the winners of the contest on Tuesday, May 23rd. We had readings of award-winning poems, a live Q&A panel with winning artists, and shared the winner of the People’s Choice Award. This year’s People’s Choice Award was given to Lauren A.’s artwork, You Carried Me Through.
This contest takes place annually. If you are interested in participating next year, the contest will return in 2024!
